Rajesh Borse

Borse’s preferred medium is water colour on paper, but he works in acrylic with equal ease. The celebratory aspect of rural living is one of the most important themes in his work, with figures depicted in various stages of dancing or merrymaking. The character of the rural Indian lifestyle is highlighted in these paintings, imbuing Borse’s work with a sense of nostalgia by harking back to the surroundings that the artist grew up in. Bold colours and bold strokes define his work.
Borse’s work has been a part of several shows. He has been honoured with awards from the Government School of Art, the V. V. Oak Foundation, and the Lalit Kala Bhavan in Khiroda.
